SINCE WE ARE AN ANIMAL CONTROL FACILITY WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO TAKE IN ANIMALS FROM WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF MARION, IL. Hi, My name is Officer Bobbi Yingling, I have been with Marion Animal Control Shelter for two years now. I have a degree in Veterinary Assistance. I have always loved working with animals and have just recently in this past two years found my true calling. Every animal at our facility is treated as if it were our own. We have just recently hired a new Assistant Animal Control Officer. Shanna South, she has been with us just for a short few months as an employee. She prevesiouly worked as a Vet Tech.. At our facility we are equipped to house between 20 to 30 dogs at one time, and 30 cats (THIS NUMBER WILL CHANGE AS WE GET MORE CAGES). We have one cage that is dedicated to puppies only. We have just recently added a large fenced in play area/adoption area to our facility. In this fenced in area we allow the dogs several hours to run and play and get exercise. When the area is not being used for recreation it is being used for families to get to know their new potential dog. We also have leashes on site so that if someone should want to take their potential dog for a walk. At our facility volunteers are always welcome, be it to help with the cleaning of cages, transporting animals to rescues or vet, feeding the animals or just socializing with the animals. WE ARE LOOKING FOR A VOLUNTEER WITH A VAN OR SUV THAT WOULD BE WILLING TO TRANSPORT OUR RESCUED CATS AND DOGS TO MT VERNON ONCE A WEEK. USUALLY ON TUESDAYS FROM 8AM TO APPROX 11AM. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO THIS PLEASE CONTACT BOBBI AT 618-993-2991. Donations are accepted as well.
